i was invited to a fun event at kate spade on the plaza  for go blog social last week. do you remember when i attended the event last spring? it was awesome! much like the event. they had great little drinks and snacks with a pretty sweet discount too. i bet your wondering what i bought, and i'm sorry to say i didn't get anything. i know, crazy. but i really love this new bag i found at windsor and really only wanted a new phone case or planner, and they just didn't have them in stock. so i made my husband very proud by walking out empty handed, haha. anyways if you are interested in going to a go blog social conference there is one coming up in october in chicago and you should totally go. lauren from classy and fab girl and i are going to go and you should totally join us. it is a one day event full of great sessions. will i see you there? i hope so!

booties at shopbop

booties at shopbop

so last week's tres chic post was all about three ways to style booties right now, and today i thought i would show you my favorites at shop bop right now. first of all, i love booties and think they can be worn all the time. the height of the bootie for your build is everything. i have a thicker ankle and know that just like my waist the smallest part should be shown off to be the most flattering look. so for me it's the madewell billie boot. it hits me at my ankle just right. i recommend trying on every pair you can find just to see what looks the best on you and then picking out the right color and fabric.

i love a good cognac pair for fall and this will look good with any outfit on a red head or a brunette with red undertones in their hair (aka me), it balances out a whole look. you know how i just love a good leopard print and i am loving all of the leopard print booties at shopbop. i adore the thicker heel on the joie "dalton" bootie and the stiletto heel on the joie "lina" leopard pumps. the thicker heel is perfect for more casual outfits, and the stiletto would look perfect with a black fitted pant for a night out. oh and leopard goes with everything! while we're talking about goes with everything - nude does too. i love a nude color bootie for blondes and brunettes with lots of golds in their hair. the nude like the cognac will balance out the whole look. and the chic black pair. nothing beats a beautiful black pair of booties to polish off any look. pair the madewell booties with black tights and a skirt for the perfect fall look. but until then tell me how you plan on rocking this great trend.

smiles

tee: j.crew | skirt: bb dakota (old) similar here and here | sandals: j.crew | purse: tory burch | sunnies: ralph | necklaces: nashelle, stella and dot, dogeared | bracelets: j.crew, j.crew (old) similar here, stella and dot | rings: vintage, david yurman, francesca's

you know those moments that you know will change everything. well that is what today feels like for me. i'm working on a secret project that i am so excited about i could scream. it's basically the opportunity of a life time and can't wait to tell you all how it goes. but all i can tell you is that you've got to put yourself out there, know what you want. and go get it. but you've got to know what you want and work your butt off for it. i really can't wait to share what's going on, but until then what dreams are you waiting to fulfill? i recommend you write them down and focus on how to make them happen.

happy monday!

wedding attire

dress: francesca's (in store only) exact same one at mod cloth similar here too
shoes: thrifted similar here | clutch: j.crew (old) similar here | necklaces: nashelle, stella and dot, dogeared, and j.crew | bracelets: j.crew and stella and dot

i feel like i have a lot to talk about today. first things first, this dress. i loved it the second i tried it on. it's super flattering, has great scalloped details, and (it's kind of hard to see in the pics but) it's a little sparkly underneath. amazing. i bought it knowing i had two weddings coming up and depending on the weather could wear it to one if not both. but the other one is more than a month off (i bet i will find something else by then, lol). it is such a comfortable dress too - i really can't say enough good things about it, it's great.

second, does any other late mid-twenties gal find it difficult to correctly dress your age? i feel like i'm on the border line of being appropriate while trying to make sure i still feel young and sassy. (ps, yes this dress makes me feel like both). but do you know what i'm talking about? i feel like finding dresses (specifically) for a late mid-twenties girl is difficult to make sure she doesn't feel too old or too young. i'm always up for a good style challenge for sure, but want to know what you think. i love getting to hear about where you love to shop and if you've found great places to shop. it's always good to share the wealth.

third, i am a stylist. and would love to help you in anyway. i love to help organize closets, and purge what you don't need, to then create a shopping list just for you. i then make pinterest boards for my clients to make it easy for them to shop and see what they need to complete their wardrobe. i do wardrobe styling for photo shoots. yep, i pull the clothes and put together the looks to make sure your spread creates just the right point of view. whatever you need i can help ya. just drop me a line at gussiedup {dot} cf {at} gmail {dot} com. i promise i make it fun and not cost you an arm and a leg!

so what do you think?

kate spade at shopbop.com

kate spade at shopbop.com

as i've started to shop at shopbop.com more, the more i am learning and loving the site. so i thought it would be fun to pick some of my favorite pieces from kate spade to show you all the fab pieces they have over at shopbop. kate spade iPhone cases are probably one of my favorite things, ever. and you know how i love a good pair of sunnies, these are the autumn sun sunnies by kate spade in blush brown and i adore them. the bangles too are always so amazing, i love the the knot bangle and think it is the best wedding present. if you are ever looking for a great wallet, i adore the lacy zip around continental wallet in gold. it's classic and is perfect all year long. and necklaces oh man! kate spade knows that they are doing, i am going bananas over the grande bouquet necklace, isn't that the perfect name? for a night out on the town i adore the clutches from kate spade, and am obsessed over the eat cake for breakfast clutch especially. this is my favorite little saying they have done and would get everything that has it on it. i mean, doesn't everyone eat cake for breakfast? another great classic piece (well this one is trendy, that's why i love it) the watch. there are so many gorgeous ones in silver and gold, and great colors in the bands too. the perfect work bag it the tote, and the simple silhouette of the cedar street small harmony tote is perfect of any job and industry. and the most practical purse you will every but is the cross body, you don't even need your arm to carry it, just rest it right on your shoulder and your hands are free to shop til you drop. perfect right? how adorable is the cobble hill mini carson, it's not too small and fits everything you need.

enjoy!
