The hubs and I have been driving all over this great land. We made it home to visit our mamas for Mother's Day and we went to Tennessee to visit the hub's brother and wife. We had a blast with our families!

I put this outfit together starting with my new stripe skirt I picked up in NYC. I love the navy and white stripes. It's a great classic piece that will be easy to wear for a long time. I paired it with this black watch plaid (a fall favorite of mine) and this canvas vest, but I found similar ones here and here.

This outfit I wore for a family bridal shower this past weekend, and the blazer + maxi dress combo was a hit. The weather was a bit gloomy in the morning, so I wasn't really fellin' the cute little dress (I had originally picked out). This look I am kind of obsessed with now. I mean what better than a spring maxi, to keep you covered and a structured blazer to even out the look. Easy, and I will definitely be wearing the blazer + maxi combo again soon!

This cute gold stripe knit was one of my NY finds. I had a blast hoping around the city and popping into every J.Crew I could find. The simple stripe style of this boat neck knit with the foiled gold is a great classic that will look good with just about anything, especially leopard pants.

mama's day gift ideas

 

These colors remind me of my mom and I would love to create a painting just like this for her. What about going to a wine and painting party? That would be a blast! 

How fun is this waffle tower cake for a Mother's day brunch? It looks delish to me!

     

 What about a gorgeous bouquet of flowers. You could pick up some from a local farmers market, or have a gorgeous bouquet delivered on Saturday for her through Sunday too!

Or what about a good read! This is a great book and I highly recommend it! To anyone looking for a  new read, this is one crazy story!

This outfit post was from our second day in NYC. I tried to pack pieces that would be easy to layer and mix and match - depending my the weather and my mood:) This girl loves some options. This was my look for our Broadway show. We saw the Phantom of the Opera and we all loved it. I found this dress at The Limited and I almost died when I saw it. It reminded me of the Kate Spade dress from holiday - that everyone, including me was dying over. I knew the classic black and white stripes would be perfect for our night out in NYC. I've had this jacket for a long time and it comes in super handy whenever I have special nights out. The show way amazing and I can't wait to go back?
