getting ready for spring

i don't know about you, but i am so glad to finally see all this snow melting. i'm ready for skirts (without tights), sandals and sunshine, are you with me? spring is right around the corner and we got a glimpse of the warm weather to come.

for a casual day i wanted create a look that was put together without looking too over done (i'm usually pretty guilty of that, ha). i love this old navy jacket, it's a light weight piece that is easy to layer over anything. i paired it with this great stripe tee from j.crew to give the look some interest. i added the venus fly trap necklace (a favorite go-to) for just a little bit of sparkle, and i was ready to go. what do you think of today's look? leave a comment below.

i had the honor of shooting with sarah sweeney from one sparrow creative. 

and let me tell you what! this girl has some serious talent and passion for photography.

for this shoot i wanted to put together a look that really showed who i am. on gussied up i try to keep it real and only wear outfits i would actually wear, but sometimes i just like to play dress up. so i kept this look pretty casual and jazzed up this j.crew sweater and boyfriend jeans with gobs of accessories. wearing more accessories (than usual) with a more casual look is a great way to feel more put together automatically.
