denim date

jacket: old navy | blouse: j.crew (old) but similar here | jeans: baldwin last seen here | heels: j.crew (old) but similar here | purse: tory burch | necklaces: nashelle and etsy | earrings: kendra scott

the hubs and i had a great night out in the river market  area. it's basically our go-to spot, and i love it. it's a great neighborhood full of great eats and drinks.

i just realized that i've got this outfit on repeat (well the bottom half). and i'm cool with that. do you have those pieces that you will always keep at the front of your closet? the ones you always can rely on to make you feel good, me too! these are my pieces. a great pair of dark denim and leopard pumps, and change out the top, and i am good to go. what are your favorite go to pieces.

happy april everyone!!

kc casual

i had the honor of shooting with sarah sweeney from one sparrow creative
and let me tell you what! this girl has some serious talent and passion for photography.
we met a few weeks ago and just couldn't wait to work together. i'm a huge fan of her friday style files and am excited to share that i am featured on her blog today! check out the shoot we did and let me know what you think!

sweater : J.Crew | jeans: Madewell | shoes: J.Crew Factory (0ld) | belt: J.Crew | purse: Tory Burch | necklace: J.Crew (old) but similar here and Nashelle | bracelets: J.Crew, David Yurman, and Lily Dawson | watch: Michael Kors (old) | rings: Lulu Frost, vintage Tiffany's, David Yurman | nail polish: Covergirl Lav-endure

for this shoot i wanted to put together a look that really showed who i am. on gussied up i try to keep it real and only wear outfits i would actually wear, but sometimes i just like to play dress up. so i kept this look pretty casual and jazzed up this j.crew sweater and boyfriend jeans with gobs of accessories. wearing more accessories (than usual) with a more casual look is a great way to feel more put together automatically.

go check out sarah's photography and mad skills here. and let me know what you think!?

also, leave a comment below about what you liked about today's post! i'd love to hear what you like and want to see more of!

gussied up styling

This weekend I had the pleasure to style my lovely client Stephanie. She works for a creative agency in KC, she's super involved in Junior League and is getting married next summer. Super exciting! So needless to say, she is super busy, and wanted help creating more outfits.

We went through her wardrobe (which was really awesome) to edit out pieces for her to sell, toss, and tailor. We created looks with pieces she already owned, to rework her pieces to get new looks. We then went through the Gussied Up Wardrobe Checklist, (if interested check  this out!) and checked of the basics, and talked about the pieces she needs to complete her wardrobe. It was an absolute blast!!

Below are outfits we put together:

Look 1: Casual Day
Blouse, boyfriend jeans, tan sandals

Look 2: Work Day
Ruffle top, denim jacket, lace skirt, skinny belt and tan pumps

Look 3: Night Out
Bright top, boot cut denim, nude pumps

Look 4: Holiday for Day
Sequin dress, black blazer, tights, boots, and skinny belt

 Look 5:
Decorative tee, white button up, gray jeans, and tan sandals

See what I mean, the girl has great stuff!

Below are the before and afters of her closet. We organized her closet to be easier "to shop." Her tops, skirts, pants, and dresses flow from shortest to longest lengths, and from warm to cool in color.

I'm grateful  to work with Stephanie on revamping her wardrobe. We had a fun morning spent reworking her clothes and creating new looks. I can't wait to see what she adds to her wardrobe and to hear how happy she feels is her clothes again!

If you would like help to create new outfits, clean out your wardrobe, or want help with new pieces for your wardrobe, please email me. We can create a package that works best for you!
