wardrobe consultation with lauren

I had the pleasure of helping a dear friend organize her closet. Lauren married my cousin Mike this  summer and are adjusting to married life beautifully! They originally decided to split both closets, half and half. But, for the new year - decided to have his and hers closets. I thought it was a great idea and offered to help!

Lauren walked me through her closet. She sure does have fabulous stuff!

She showed me her favorite pieces - and the pieces she wanted help creating outfits with.

Here is her closet before:

Here is her closet after:

Lauren had worked hard to color code her wardrobe - which I love. But, I find it easier to shop your closet when it is organized by style and length. We organized Lauren's tops by jackets, sweaters, and dressy shirts on top. We organized the skirts, tanks, tees, and long sleeve knits on the bottom.

I find it easier to shop your closet, when the sleeve length is short to longest. It's easier to see what is in your closet.

Lauren's fabulous shoe collection!

Outfit #1:
Chambray shirt layered underneath tan sweater with navy elbow patches.  Then paired with navy cropped pants, camel booties and sparkle studs.

Outfit #2:
An orange printed tank layered under a pinkish gray cardigan. Paired with navy zipper denim, leopard flats and teal earrings.

Outfit #3:
Cream chiffon tank layered under a black and cream striped blazer. Paired with dark denim and black booties.

Outfit #4:

Cream lace peplum tank layered underneath peach blazer and black necklace. Paired with dark denim and black booties.

Outfit #5:
Black and white striped knit top tucked into green skirt with black tights and brown boots.

gussied up styling

This weekend I had the pleasure to style my lovely client Stephanie. She works for a creative agency in KC, she's super involved in Junior League and is getting married next summer. Super exciting! So needless to say, she is super busy, and wanted help creating more outfits.

We went through her wardrobe (which was really awesome) to edit out pieces for her to sell, toss, and tailor. We created looks with pieces she already owned, to rework her pieces to get new looks. We then went through the Gussied Up Wardrobe Checklist, (if interested check  this out!) and checked of the basics, and talked about the pieces she needs to complete her wardrobe. It was an absolute blast!!

Below are outfits we put together:

Look 1: Casual Day
Blouse, boyfriend jeans, tan sandals

Look 2: Work Day
Ruffle top, denim jacket, lace skirt, skinny belt and tan pumps

Look 3: Night Out
Bright top, boot cut denim, nude pumps

Look 4: Holiday for Day
Sequin dress, black blazer, tights, boots, and skinny belt

 Look 5:
Decorative tee, white button up, gray jeans, and tan sandals

See what I mean, the girl has great stuff!

Below are the before and afters of her closet. We organized her closet to be easier "to shop." Her tops, skirts, pants, and dresses flow from shortest to longest lengths, and from warm to cool in color.

I'm grateful  to work with Stephanie on revamping her wardrobe. We had a fun morning spent reworking her clothes and creating new looks. I can't wait to see what she adds to her wardrobe and to hear how happy she feels is her clothes again!

If you would like help to create new outfits, clean out your wardrobe, or want help with new pieces for your wardrobe, please email me. We can create a package that works best for you!
